Villa Bella is a ground up 18,700 sf K-5 Charter School with parking and playground for 300 students, 12 classrooms, with a large library/multipurpose room with support space. The scope of work included the design and construction of the new masonry building and surrounding sitework. This project is a prime example of the collaborative skills, expertise, and problem-solving abilities this team brought to the project which lead to delivering a successful building on time and below budget.
The project was completed on a very strict timeline. Construction was started on February 1, 2019 and had a substantial completion date of August 1, 2019 with the project deadline of August 16th. Not only was the project completed on time it was also completed under budget.
Design Build of a new classroom and office building for multiple uses by the Arkansas Valley Research Center, Otero County Extension, and Otero County 4-H Club. The space did not only have offices, meeting rooms, and a large gathering area, but a state of the art kitchen for educational purposes.
Construction consisted of the renovation of an existing utility shed that was used to house farm equipment and a 3,00 sf Addition. The initial scope of work called for complete demolition of the existing facility, but we saw the antique trusses and convinced them to keep the existing structure and trusses, which happens to be the focal point of the design.
This project was also awarded LEED Certification.
